Location: remote with requirement to come into Oxfordshire office at least fortnightly, and ad hoc meetings and events in Oxfordshire/London

Salary: £24,000 per annum, plus benefits

We’re passionate about supporting climate tech innovators to access funding, resources and valuable connections, as well as working with partners on programmes and initiatives to place sustainability and low carbon at the heart of Oxfordshire’s economy. Established in 2019, our collaborative network of businesses, academics, and investors is driving positive change in the region and beyond, further amplified by our close partnership with sister network Cambridge Cleantech.

We co-founded the Climate Tech Supercluster in 2023, an organisation dedicated to accelerating the development of and investment into climate tech across Northern Europe at speed and scale.

We’re seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team as an Events and Communications Coordinator.


About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and organised individual to join the team as an Events & Communications Coordinator. In this role, you will play a vital part in connecting businesses, facilitating collaboration, and amplifying our network’s voice on the path to achieving a zero-carbon future. You will manage both virtual and in-person events, develop engaging communication materials, and support overall network growth and engagement.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll work closely with the CEO, supporting a variety of tasks across events organisation, marketing, communications, network management, and project support. You’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, making a real difference in the fight against climate change, and supporting first-hand those developing globally significant solutions and technologies.


Responsibilities:

Events Organisation:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of Oxfordshire Greentech events, including conferences, workshops, and networking gatherings.
  • Tasks will involve:
    • Venue sourcing and negotiation.
    • Logistics management (catering, travel, accommodation).
    • Speaker liaison and management.
    • Attendee communication and registration.
    • Event technology setup and support.
    • Post-event evaluation and reporting.

Marketing and Communications:

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies.
  • Tasks will involve:
    • Social media management (content creation, posting, engagement).
    • Content creation for website, blog, and other marketing materials.
    • Website maintenance and content updates.
    • Press release development and media outreach.
    • Develop and manage marketing collateral.

Network Management:

  • Maintain and build relationships with Oxfordshire Greentech’s network members across various sectors.
  • Tasks will involve:
    • Managing communication channels (email, online forums).
    • Promoting and advocating for members’ businesses and initiatives.
    • Identifying and addressing member needs and concerns.
    • Connecting members with relevant resources and opportunities.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the CEO and wider team.
  • Tasks will involve:
    • Scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
    • Preparing documents and presentations.
    • Managing data and reports.

Project Support:

  • Assist with various projects related to industrial decarbonisation, sustainability courses, and network collaboration.
  • Tasks will involve:
    • Research and data analysis.
    • Stakeholder engagement and communication.
    • Meeting coordination and facilitation.
    • Project documentation and reporting.

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g. marketing, communications, event management, business administration etc).
  • Informal experience or understand of planning and executing events (conferences, workshops, networking events).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools.
  • Fluent and engaging written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work as a team player, but also to work alone and manage own workload as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of climate tech and sustainability issues, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact.

Desirable skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Formal experience planning and executing events (conferences, workshops, networking events).
  • Experience with venue sourcing, logistics management, and speaker liaison.
  • 1-2 years in a relevant industry.
  • Experience running social media accounts (inc. LinkedIn, X etc).
  • Proficiency using WordPress and/or other web design software and knowledge of website management and content creation best practices.
